Johnson for President!

I’ve already made my choice for the presidentials next year. Even if I don’t have the right to vote in the land of the free and the home of the brave, I officially endorse and support the candidacy of Gary Johnson, the former governor of New Mexico, who- after being excluded from the Republican primaries- will run as a third party candidate for the Libertarian Party.

I clearly prefer him as well to Barack Obama as to all Republican candidates, including Ron Paul (who has many good ideas, but is deeply wrong on some issues, i.e. abortion and Israel, which are both way too important for me to ignore.) I also like Stephen Bailey, but he won’t run. So I go for Gary!

For various (philosophical and political) reasons, I am not a big fan of the Libertarian Party (as I am not one of Murray Rothbard for that matter), but if Gary Johnson will be their candidate, a LP vote should be morally acceptable.

So, to all my american friends: of course, it’s your own choice, but please have a look here. Thanks!

Der ganz normale Wahnsinn…

Europa hat mit den grössten wirtschaftlichen Problemen seit Jahrzenten zu kämpfen. Hohe Staatsverschuldungen, Eurokrise, Massenarbeitslosigkeit, Rezession- und Inflationsgefahr. Doch manche Politiker wissen dennoch nichts Besseres zu tun als weiter kräftig am Ausbau des paternalistischen Staates zu arbeiten.

Les régimes politiques arabes sont actuellement à l’épreuve de leur compatibilité avec leurs opinions publiques. Les révoltes et surtout leurs causes et les personnages et/ou groupements qui les animent, ne manqueront pas de nous occuper et inquiéter. A défaut de pouvoir les classer et reconnaître comme  „démocratiques“, nous les avons néanmoins considérés comme étant l’expression d’une spécificité arabe, constituée elle-même d’une forte composante religieuse et tribale. Stables au surplus et assurant une coexistence entre pays à régimes politiques assez divergents, ils ont servi parfaitement nos intérêts économiques et politiques et pour l’instant, rien ne permet de s’attendre à ce que ceux-ci soit mieux servi à l’avenir.
